At Phase One Design, we believe a home is more than walls and windows — it’s a reflection of the people who live there and the life they want to create. Since 2006, we’ve designed over 1,000 custom homes across Canada, from luxury single-family residences to innovative multi-family developments. Along the way, our work has been recognized with 23+ industry awards and nominations, but what matters most to us is the trust of our clients and the relationships we build.

With studios in Calgary and Vancouver, our boutique team brings together creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of constructability. We’re known for designing homes that are as buildable and financially viable as they are beautiful — a rare balance that sets our work apart.

What makes us different is our high-touch approach. From the first sketch to permits, builder coordination, and final construction, we guide clients through every step of the process. Our role is part designer, part advocate, part concierge — making the journey of building a custom home as seamless (and enjoyable) as the result.

Our culture is rooted in five core values: humble confidence, excellence in the details, doing the right thing, continuous learning, and caring deeply. These values shape how we serve our clients, how we work together as a team, and how we build long-term partnerships with builders, industry peers, and homeowners.

Whether you are a homeowner ready to design your dream residence, a builder looking for a collaborative design partner, or a design professional seeking a team that values growth and creativity, we’d love to connect.
