Ahmed Sharkawy

Ahmed Sharkawy has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ahmed most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Phase Sensitive Innovations Inc. starting in December 2016. Prior to that, they held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Lumilant Inc. from December 2010 to December 2018. Before joining Lumilant Inc., Ahmed worked as the Vice President of Photonics at EM Photonics, Inc. from an unspecified date in 2010 to December 2014. Ahmed also had a long-term role as an Associate Professor at the University of Delaware from an unspecified date in 2003 until September 2013. Earlier in their career, they were the Director of Photonic Applications at EM Photonics, where they managed over 40 nano and bio photonic projects, and served as a Senior Engineer, designing and developing scientific modeling and simulation tools for nano/bio photonic applications.

Ahmed Sharkawy completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering, Benha, Egypt from 1989 to 1994. Ahmed then pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Penn State Great Valley from 1996 to 1998. Ahmed furthered their education by obtaining a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Delaware between 1998 and 2002.
