Karim Ramji has extensive work experience in the medical field. Karim is the co-founder and Medical Lead at Phelix.ai, where they developed an AI-powered virtual assistant that automates healthcare workflows. Karim also worked at McMaster University as a Fellow in Bariatrics and Minimally Invasive Surgery. Prior to that, they had various roles at the University of Toronto, including Course/Curriculum designer and General Surgery Resident. Karim Ramji holds a diverse education history. Karim obtained a High School Diploma from Old Scona Academic in 2001. Following this, they completed an Honors Bachelor of Science in Immunology and Infection at the University of Alberta from 2001 to 2005. Karim then pursued a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Alberta, graduating in 2009. Subsequently, they obtained a Licentiate of Medical Council of Canada from the Medical Council of Canada in July 2009.
In 2015, Karim Ramji enrolled at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, where they pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree, which they completed in August 2015. Afterward, they commenced a General Surgery Residency at the University of Toronto in 2011, which they concluded in 2019.
Furthermore, Karim Ramji embarked on a Bariatrics & MIS Fellowship at McMaster University from 2019 to 2021, focusing on surgery.
