Andres Acosta M.D., Ph.D. has extensive experience in the medical field. From 2006 to 2012, they held various positions at the University of Florida - Shands Hospital, including Internal Medicine Residency, Obesity and Metabolism Expert, and Research Assistant. In 2009, they founded Andres Acosta Consulting, providing consulting services in Obesity and Metabolism to Pharmaceutical companies and scientists. From 2012 to 2017, they worked at the Mayo Clinic as an Assistant Professor, Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellow, and NIH T-32 Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In 2014, they founded Gila Therapeutics, Inc. In 2017, they founded Phenomix Sciences, an early stage startup providing healthcare solutions that will enable personalized management of chronic diseases with better efficacy, fewer side effects, and lower costs.

Andres Acosta M.D., Ph.D. obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Universidad San Francisco de Quito in 2006, followed by their PhD in Physiology and Obesity from the University of Florida in 2009. Andres then went on to obtain certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2012, the American Board of Obesity Medicine and Nutrition in 2013, and the American Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2016.
