Derrick Jennings

Derrick Jennings is the current CIO at Phi Beta Sigma. Derrick has previous experience working as the IT Asset - Configuration Manager at Virginia State University from February 2013 to January 2015. In this role, they were responsible for leading department ITAM best practices, redesigning departmental workflow procedures, and managing the daily and long-term strategic management of software and technology-related hardware. Derrick also redesigned and built the IT Asset Management (ITAM) program, served on the IT Change Advisory Board (CAB) as the Change Management Manager, and established the VSU Technology Services Problem Management process.

Derrick Jennings has a proven track record of success in IT management and compliance. Derrick is a strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement plans that improve efficiency and effectiveness while meeting regulatory requirements. Derrick is an excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with senior leadership, departmental staff, and vendors. Derrick Jennings has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Strayer University, a Master’s Degree in Educational/Instructional Technology from Virginia State University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services from Virginia State University. Derrick Jennings also has certification from APMG-International in ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle, IAITAM in Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional, IAITAM in Certified Software Asset Manager, APMG-International in ITIL Service Operation, APMG-International in ITIL Continual Service Improvment, APMG-International in ITIL Service Transition, APMG-International in ITIL Service Design, APMG-International in ITIL Service Strategy, and APMG-International in ITIL Foundation.
