Don McKinney has built a diverse career in education and chemistry, serving as a Program Coordinator at the Philadelphia Education Fund since 2006 and as the ChemMatters Teachers Guide Editor for the American Chemical Society since August 2004. Prior experience includes a role as a Consultant for the Chemical Heritage Foundation from February 2000 to May 2008 and a long-standing teaching position in the Radnor School District from September 1964 to June 1999. Don McKinney holds a degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where studies were completed from 1960 to 1964.
Philadelphia Education Fund
Founded in 1985, PEF is a comprehensive provider of college and career advising services – serving students attending 6 of the City’s lowest graduation-rate high schools; consulting with schools on the creation of college-going cultures; awarding $600,000 in scholarship aid annually; operating the college access portal, www.PhillyGoes2College.org; and delivering career exposure programming to students and teachers and through its stewardship of the 400-member Philadelphia STEM Ecosystem and the Philadelphia STEM Equity Collective, a 10-year partnership with GSK.
