Chief Faith & Community Engagement Officer at Philadelphia FIGHT

Calenthia D. has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Calenthia currently holds the position of Chief Faith & Community Engagement Officer at Philadelphia FIGHT Community Health Centers, where they lead external relationship cultivation and education on HIV, public health, and wellness. Prior to this, they were the Facilitator for an antiracism training program at Roots of Justice, providing workshops and consulting services on systemic oppression and racism. Calenthia also has experience as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Montana, an Associate Professor at Eastern University, and a Chaplain and Instructor at Messiah University, where they managed spiritual life programs, taught courses, and coordinated outreach initiatives. Calenthia D. is also involved in organizational equity and wellness through their own business, Crossing Bridges Intl.

Calenthia D. obtained their BA in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Temple University. Calenthia then pursued an MAR degree in Biblical & Urban Studies from Westminster Theological Seminary. Following that, they received their MLA degree in Cultural Studies from the University of Pennsylvania. Calenthia later attended American University, where they earned both their PhD and MA in Anthropology, focusing on race, gender, and social justice, as well as public anthropology.

In terms of certifications, Calenthia completed the Jarena Lee Preaching Academy IV at WomanPreach! Inc. in June of 2022. Additionally, in July 2020, they obtained certification in Introduction to Restorative Cities Movement Building from the Metropolitan Christian Council of Philadelphia. In August 2019, Calenthia completed the International Instructor Training Institute at The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program. Prior to that, in June 2019, they obtained the Title IX Module (and Refresher) for Faculty & Staff certification from Get Inclusive. Lastly, in May 2019, Calenthia completed the Diversity & Inclusion in the Workplace certification at ESSEC Business School.
