Louis Marchesano currently serves as the Marion Boulton “Kippy” Stroud Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs and Conservation and Senior Curator of Prints, Drawings, and Photographs at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, a position held since January 2019. In this role, Marchesano oversees a substantial collection of 162,000 works on paper and manages a large team of curators, collection managers, and fellows. Prior to this, Marchesano was the Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Getty Research Institute from September 1997 to January 2019. Marchesano holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Art History from Cornell University Graduate School and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art History and History from Western University.
