Brayden Akers

Brayden Akers is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Media Relations and Issues Management Lead for Canada at Philip Morris International since January 2024. Prior to this role, Brayden was an Associate Principal at Navigator Ltd., a leading public strategy and communication firm in Canada, where Brayden worked with over 40 top Canadian companies from May 2019 to January 2024. Brayden has held several key positions in government, including Director of Communications for the Ontario Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines, and the Ontario Ministry of Indigenous Affairs in 2018. Additionally, Brayden was a Media Relations Officer at Ontario Power Generation and served in various communications roles, including Senior Communications Advisor at Toronto Community Housing and Director of Communications for Transport Canada. Brayden began a career in communications as a Special Assistant to the Chief of Staff at the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada. Academic credentials include a degree from the University of Ottawa.
