Sagar Mehta

Sagar Mehta has extensive experience in the financial industry. Sagar is currently working as the Head of Mutual Funds at PhillipCapital India since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked at CGS-CIMB Securities as a Senior Associate in Wealth Management from June 2019 to December 2021. During their tenure, they managed the company's wealth management and investment advisory desks, overseeing an AUM of INR 250+Mn. Sagar also established the mutual fund distribution business and added other wealth products to the desk.

Before joining CGS-CIMB Securities, Sagar worked at Batlivala & Karani Securities India Pvt. Ltd. as a Senior Manager from November 2018 to April 2019.

Sagar also gained valuable experience at Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund (ABSLMF) from June 2015 to October 2018. Sagar held various roles during this time, including Deputy Manager and Assistant Manager in the Institutional Business team. Sagar was responsible for managing investments from select mapped and newly acquired Corporates and Institutions, looking after an investment book of Rs. 2000 Crores. Sagar demonstrated expertise in fixed income and equity mutual funds, particularly in the insurance companies, co-operative banks, mid and small size corporate, quasi government corporations, and promoter and family offices segments.

Sagar Mehta completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning between 2013 and 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics from the same institution from 2009 to 2013. In 2011 and 2012, they undertook a Foundation Course in Civil Services at A A Shah.

In terms of secondary education, Sagar Mehta studied at Singapore International School Mumbai from 2007 to 2009, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate degree with a focus on Business Management, Mathematics, and Economics. Before that, from 2004 to 2007, they attended Jain International Residential School, where they completed grades 7 to 10 (AISSE).

In addition to their formal education, Sagar Mehta also obtained several certifications. Sagar obtained the Investment Advisory Level 1 and 2 certifications from the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) in June 2019. In August 2018, they earned the Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from Aditya Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund (ABSLMF). Furthermore, they acquired the Mutual Fund Distributors certification from the National Institute of Securities Markets in July 2015. It is worth noting that they also completed a UPSC Foundation Course at AA Shah IAS Academy, although the specific details regarding the certificate were not provided.
