Rebecca O'Connell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in gift administration, writing, customer service, and education. Currently serving as a Senior Gift Administration Specialist at Carnegie Mellon University since January 2018, Rebecca ensures accurate processing of gifts, compliance with donor intent, and provides exceptional customer service to alumni and constituents. In addition to this role, Rebecca has been a writer since August 2000, creating books and stories for various age groups, including contributions to NPR's "Hanukkah Lights." Rebecca has also held positions at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens as a Guest Services Associate and at Pittsburgh Public Schools as an Educational Assistant. An experienced Children's Librarian at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh from 1992 to 2015, Rebecca was active in social networking, event planning, and literacy advocacy. Educational credentials include a Master of Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a BA in Psychology from Penn State University, along with a certificate in Nonprofit Management.
