Gijs van Ouwerkerk is a Marketing and Communication Specialist at PHIX Photonics Assembly since February 2020, focusing on the packaging of photonic integrated circuits. In addition to this role, Gijs operates as a Freelance Photographer and Videographer, collaborating with the University of Twente and various publications since 2007. Gijs completed a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Twente, where a project on CAD implementation for aluminium extrusion dies was undertaken. Prior experience includes serving as a Knowledge Engineer at Tecnomatix Machining Automation, where Gijs implemented machining strategies for high-speed milling into a Computer Aided Manufacturing system. Gijs also holds an International Baccalaureate degree from 1994.
