Gretchen Schwindt has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Gretchen started their career at Saint Vincent Hospital in 1995 as a Staff Registered Nurse, working there until 2002. In 2004, they joined Phoenix Children's, where they held multiple roles over the years. Gretchen began as a NICU Clinical Supervisor and served in that position until 2017 when they transitioned to become a Fetal Care Nurse Coordinator. After two years in this role, they advanced to the position of Clinical Nurse Manager in 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Nursing Services Director at Phoenix Children's starting from December 2022.

Gretchen Schwindt holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Kent State University College of Nursing, which they completed in 1995. Gretchen also obtained a Master's degree in Nursing Leadership from Chamberlain University. In 2021, Gretchen completed the AONL Nurse Manager Fellowship from the American Organization for Nursing Leadership. Additionally, they are a Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) from the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
