Nathan Botts

Middle and Upper School Band Director at Phoenix Country Day School

Nathan Botts is the current Middle and Upper School Band Director at Phoenix Country Day School. Nathan was previously a Museum Educator at the Musical Instrument Museum from January 2018 to December 2020. Prior to that, they were the Director of the Brass Ensemble and an Instructor of Brass Instruments at Bennington College from January 2012 to December 2014. Nathan Botts has also been the Director of the Brass Ensemble and Artist Associate in Trumpet and Jazz Trumpet at Williams College from January 2012 to December 2014. In addition, they were a Teaching Artist, Project Leader, and Fellowship Mentor at Carnegie Hall - Weill Music Institute from January 2007 to December 2014. Nathan Botts has also worked as a Community Engagement Specialist, Teaching Artist, and Arts Administrator as a self-employed individual.

Nathan Botts studied Jazz/Jazz Studies at the Manhattan School of Music, received a BA in Music from Brigham Young University, and an MM in Trumpet Performance from The Juilliard School.
