Michael Gaa

Michael Gaa is an experienced talent acquisition professional currently serving as Head of Talent Acquisition at Phoenix (YC W21) since January 2025. Prior to this role, Michael worked as a Talent Consultant at Lazer Technologies for a brief period in late 2024. From August 2019 to October 2024, Michael held several positions at Apply Digital, including Global Talent Acquisition Lead, Talent Acquisition Lead, and Talent Acquisition Specialist. Earlier experience includes a stint as Product Manager at dibs studio, and as a Senior and Associate Recruitment Consultant at Networkers - Technology Recruitment. Michael began a career in human resources with an internship at University Health Network in 2017. Academically, Michael holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Resource Management from the University of Waterloo and completed a Postgraduate program in Human Resources Management at George Brown College.
