Klaas Kersting is the Founder and CEO of Phoenix Games, a global family of games companies that provides resources and support to game founders. Before founding Phoenix Games in 2019, Kersting served as the owner of Kersting Holding GmbH from 2007 onwards, where they made early-stage investments in consumer-focused internet and entertainment companies. Notable investments include Supercell, Dailydeal, and Gameforge. In 2010, Kersting founded Flaregames, a mobile game publisher and developer focused on creating high-quality, free-to-play games. Klaas served as CEO until 2018. Prior to that, Kersting was the CEO and Founder of Gameforge AG, a leading developer and publisher of MMORPGs. Klaas scaled the company from 2 to over 500 employees and achieved more than $150 million in yearly revenue. Additionally, Kersting gained experience as a student trainee and scholarship holder at KPMG from 2001 to 2004.
