Carlos Sarmento has a comprehensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Carlos began their career as a Full-time Intern at AMBEV - CDD Vitória in 2001. Carlos then transitioned to BearingPoint, where they served as an Analyst, Consultant, and Senior Consultant from 2003 to 2008. Following this, they joined A.T. Kearney as a Manager and Senior Associate from 2010 to 2012.
In 2012, Carlos joined Anglo American, where they held various positions including Transformation and Transition Manager, S&OP Manager, and Business Improvement Manager. Carlos supported the M&A process leading to the $1.7B sale of Niobium & Phosphates to CMOC. At Anglo American, they also played a key role in the design and implementation of financial models and planning programs.
Carlos then joined CMOC in 2017 as the Director of Business Optimization, where they contributed to the company's growth and efficiency until 2019.
In 2019, Carlos joined Phoenix Services, LLC as the Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) responsible for leading and managing the development and execution of the company's enterprise-wide transformation efforts. Carlos later took on the role of SVP Strategy and Analytics in February 2022, further strengthening their strategic and analytical capabilities.

Carlos Sarmento obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (Oficial) between 1999 and 2003. Later, they pursued an MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management from 2008 to 2010, focusing on Strategy, Supply Chain Management, and Operations Strategy.
