Samer Refai

Samer Refai currently serves as the Head of Macro Markets at Phoenix Group since February 2024. Prior to this role, Samer was with Pension Insurance Corporation from January 2013 to December 2023, where contributions included positions as Co-Head of Markets Solutions, overseeing rates, derivatives, solutions, liquidity, treasury, and portfolio management, as well as serving as a Portfolio Manager focused on rates and liquidity. Earlier experience includes a role as Senior Derivatives Analyst at BMO Global Asset Management (EMEA) from March 2011 to December 2012 and Futures Trading at Schneider Trading Associates Limited from June 2009 to November 2010, specializing in short-term interest rates futures. Samer earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the American University of Beirut and a Master of Science in Financial Economics from City St George’s, University of London.
