Maria Alvarez has extensive experience in finance and operations management. Maria began their career as a Controller at Optomised Controls in 1994, where they assisted in the startup of the company and was responsible for all accounting and finance operations. Maria then moved on to Williams Scotsman in 2002 as a Finance and Administration Manager, overseeing administrative, accounting, and transportation departments. In 2005, they joined Advanced Broadband Communications as a Controller, responsible for all accounting and finance operations. Finally, in 2007, they joined Phoenix House Florida as the Vice President of Finance and Operations, and later became the Senior Vice President and Executive Director. Their role at Phoenix House Florida involved developing strategies to grow the bottom line and streamlining business operations. In 2019, they were promoted to President and CEO. Alvarez is known for their innovative thinking, ability to analyze key business drivers, and create successful outcomes in complex situations.

Maria Alvarez has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Accounting and Business/Management from the University of Phoenix.

Phoenix House Florida Outpatient in Brandon provides outpatient care for adults and for teens at the Derek Jeter Center. At Phoenix House Florida in Citra, the Murray Women’s Residential Program provides trauma-informed, gender-specific treatment services. Office-based detoxification services are available for both men and women, and treatment length is tailored to meet each patient’s individual needs. Nestled in the scenic hills of Marion County, our residential treatment helps adults find the inner strength to sustain recovery.
