Kent Van Horn

Vice President - Global Submarine Rescue at Phoenix International, Inc.

Kent Van Horn has extensive work experience in submarine rescue and naval operations. From 2012 to the present, they have been with Phoenix International Holdings, Inc., initially serving as the Submarine Rescue Program Manager and later as the Vice President - Global Submarine Rescue. In their role at Phoenix International Holdings, Inc., they have been responsible for overseeing global submarine rescue operations.

Prior to joining Phoenix International Holdings, Inc., Kent Van Horn worked in the US Navy. From 2008 to 2012, they served as the Naval Special Warfare N5, focusing on strategy and concept development in undersea mobility. From 2006 to 2008, they were the Officer in Charge of submarine operations in the FIFTH Fleet at Submarine Group 7. Kent also served as the Commanding Officer at the Deep Submergence Unit from 2004 to 2006, overseeing submarine operations.

Before their naval career, Kent Van Horn worked at the US Naval Academy from 2002 to 2004. In this role, they were the Chair of Professional Programs, where they were responsible for the midshipman summer professional training program and service assignments for graduating midshipmen. Kent also taught ethics and philosophy in the Professional Development Division.

Kent Van Horn received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the United States Naval Academy, having studied there from 1983 to 1987. Kent later pursued further education at The Catholic University of America, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management, completing their studies from 1998 to 1999.
