Dr. Cheri Hardwick

Dr. Cheri Hardwick has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Dr. Cheri started their career in 1992 at Arizona Boys' Ranch, where they served as a Senior Academic Advisor and Science Instructor. Here, they created and implemented personalized academic and behavior plans for male youth facing various challenges. Dr. Cheri provided instruction and guidance to students with delinquent behaviors, special education needs, and emotional health issues.

In 2000, Dr. Hardwick joined the Phoenix Union High School District as an Aerospace Studies/ Aircraft Maintenance Instructor. Dr. Cheri taught basic aerodynamics, aircraft structures, and repair to students. Dr. Cheri also offered academic and career advice and promoted student leadership and enrichment experiences.

Throughout their time at Phoenix Union High School District, Dr. Hardwick held several roles, including Dean of Students, Assistant Principal for Instruction, and Assistant Principal for Registration. Dr. Cheri coordinated instructional activities, evaluated teacher and student performance, developed behavior management procedures, and ensured a productive learning environment.

From 2014 to 2019, Dr. Hardwick worked as the Director of Assessment & Learning at Phoenix Union High School District. In this role, they reviewed and revised assessment procedures, coordinated with district leaders, and ensured compliance with accountability requirements.

In 2019, Dr. Hardwick became the Director of Portfolio of Schools Management, where they designed and launched new academic programs, supported campus leadership, and managed collaboration between divisions and campuses.

In 2020, they became the Executive Principal, where they created a shared vision and strategic plan, streamlined operations, and implemented effective strategies for school-wide development.

In 2022, Dr. Hardwick transitioned to the role of Principal in Support, providing guidance and support to school leaders.

Currently, they hold the position of Director of Portfolio Management at Phoenix Union High School District. Here, they collaborate with various divisions to ensure proactive planning, program evaluation, and program improvement.

In addition, Dr. Hardwick has obtained certifications including Principal Certification, Secondary Educator Certification with a Middle School Endorsement, and Superintendent Certification preK-12 from the Arizona Department of Education.
