Sherry Celaya

Sherry Celaya became the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance in July 2015 and in July 2016, was named Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Celaya oversees Budgeting, Payroll, Purchasing, Food Services, Real Estate, Elections, Sale of District Bonds, and Legislative matters for PXU. Ms. Celaya brings over 30 years of school finance experience to PXU, coming from Cartwright Elementary where she was the Director of Business Services for three years. Sherry was also the Chief Financial Officer for Scottsdale Unified and Roosevelt School District, and the Business Manager at Casa Grande Union High School District and Picacho Elementary District.

Ms. Celaya holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting. She holds certification from the Association of School Business Officials International as a Certified Administrator of School Finance and Operations. A member of the Arizona Association of School Business Officials (AASBO), she has completed courses in advanced Accounting, Budget and Finance, Business Management, and Purchasing. Ms. Celaya serves on the Board for taking Charge America and has served for the past five years. Ms. Celaya resides in Phoenix.
