Yuen-Li Chan has a long and varied work experience. In 1989, they began working as an Outdoor Instructor for the Colorado Outward Bound School. Yuen-Li then moved to Outward Bound Ullswater in 1990 as an Outdoor Instructor. In 1991, they worked as an English Second Language and Outdoor Instructor at St Brelade's College. From 1993 to 1994, they worked as a Journalist at Star Publications M Bhd. In 1994, they founded and became the Managing Director of Nomad Adventure Sdn Bhd. Yuen-Li gained a law degree and worked as a shepherdess, an Outward Bound instructor, an award-winning journalist and theater critic, as well as working as a dish washer and packing condom instructions into boxes prior to this role. In 1998, they captained Toyota Team 2020 in the world’s toughest race, the Eco Challenge. In 2019, they became the Co-Founder and COO of Phoenix Waste Solutions.
Yuen-Li Chan attended Lancaster University from 1987 to 1990, where they received an LLB in Law.
