Shalini Chakravorty

Shalini Chakravorty is the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at PhonePe.

Shalini joined Walmart in 2013 as VP - Compliance for India, where she helped set up many of the foundations for India compliance program. In 2014, Shalini moved to Asia Regional Office as Continuous Improvement Lead with responsibility for China, Japan and India. She was promoted as Senior Director – International Ethics in 2017 before being promoted to her current role.

Shalini has more than 20 years of experience in governance. She is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and in 2017 was awarded `CA Business Leader of the Year – Commendable Young Woman’ by the Institute. Shalini is an alumnus of INSEAD (France), holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Hansraj College, Delhi University. She is a certified fraud examiner.

Prior to Walmart, Shalini worked as Country Manager for Hill & Associates, where she advised various companies on managing corporate risks related to integrity, people and internal controls. Shalini is passionate about diversity and inclusion and has chaired the Women’s Resource Council for India. During this tenure, Walmart India was twice recognized among the Top 100 Best Companies for Women in India.
