Humayun Irshad

Humayun Irshad has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Humayun has held several key positions in various companies, including PhotoDay, where they currently serve as the Director of Machine Learning. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Scientist & Engineering Manager of Machine Learning at Pano, where they developed ML-based early smoke/fire detection for wildfire prevention.

Humayun also has experience as an AI Consultant at Boston Meditech Group, where they managed a team to create AI software solutions and conceptualized a deep learning breast cancer detection framework. Humayun served as the Principal Machine Learning Scientist at Mesmer, where they designed and developed the AI infrastructure for their Robotics Process Automation (RPA) tool.

Before that, Humayun worked as the Lead ML/CV Scientist at Figure Eight, where they led computer vision projects and developed object detection systems. Humayun also contributed to Harvard Medical School as a Research Fellow, focusing on developing 3D computational pathology for breast neoplasia analysis.

Early in their career, Humayun worked as a Research Engineer at IPAL - UMI CNRS I2R A*STAR, where they developed automated mitosis detection in breast cancer histopathology images. Humayun also worked as a Research Engineer at nexGIN RC, where they contributed to a remote patient monitoring system project.

Humayun's experience also includes working as a Software Engineer at Cogilent Solutions, where they developed web portals and maintained various products. Humayun started their career at RIDOS Software as a Software Engineer, where they were involved in software development.

Humayun Irshad received a Matriculation degree in Science from Govt. Millat High School New Multan Pakistan in 1997. After completing their High Senior School Certificate in Medical Science from Govt. Science College Multan in 2000, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University Of Central Punjab Lahore Pakistan from 2001 to 2005. Humayun then went on to earn a Master of Science degree in Computer Sciences (Artificial Intelligence) from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences from 2006 to 2009.

In 2011, Humayun attended two training courses at the National University of Singapore: one in BioMedical Imaging at the CIMST Multimodal BioMedical Imaging Summer School and another in Machine Learning at the Machine Learning Summer School. Humayun also completed a Training Course in RadioPath during the same year.

Continuing their education, Humayun pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science (Medical Image Analysis) at Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I) from 2011 to 2014. Humayun then took a Leading a Scientific Project course at the institut national des sciences et Techniques Nucleaires (INSTN) CEA CNRS France in 2013.

Later, in 2017 and 2018, Humayun obtained a Deep Learning Nano Degree Certificate from Udacity, focusing on Deep Learning, CNN, GAN, and LSTM. Humayun also completed a Nano Degree in Self Flying Vehicles from Udacity in 2018, specializing in Autonomous Flying Vehicles.
