Raquel Ortega

Raquel Ortega has over 18 years of work experience spanning different roles in sales, business development, product management, and research. Raquel started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Heidelberg in 2003 before shifting their focus to the private sector. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as an International Sales Manager and Product Manager at PHOTONIS before moving to PHOTONIS Defense, where they occupied the role of Business Development Manager from 2013 to 2018. In 2018, they became the Executive Director of Digital Night Vision and Innovation at Photonis, a position they held until March 2021. Raquel Ortega is currently the VP of Night Vision Technologies at Photonis Defense, having assumed the role in April 2021.

Raquel Ortega earned a Master of Science degree in Nuclear and Particle Physics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2000. Raquel then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy degree, also in Nuclear and Particle Physics, from the same university in 2003.
