Liz Mahar has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Liz currently works as the Director of Advocacy & Strategic Alliances at PhRMA starting in November 2022. Previously, they worked at The Arc U.S. from 2018 to 2022, where they served as the Director of Family & Sibling Initiatives. During their time at The Arc U.S., Liz played a crucial role in managing the Outreach to Aging Caregivers project, securing significant funding and implementing it in multiple states. Prior to that, Liz worked as a Program Manager at The Arc of the United States from 2014 to 2018, focusing on individual and family support. Liz also worked as a Consultant at Tigercomm in 2013, managing logistics and coordinating speakers for an environmental summit. Liz's work experience also includes a managerial role at Fleishman-Hillard from 2009 to 2013, where they handled stakeholder relationships for the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy's National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign. In addition, Liz has legislative experience from their time at the U.S. House of Representatives, where they held various positions, including Legislative Assistant and Legislative Correspondent for different congressmen.
Liz Mahar attained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology & Political Science from The George Washington University, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Tustin High School from 1995 to 1999.
