Ruben Hernandez

Ruben Hernandez has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Ruben currently holds the position of Senior Director of Advocacy & Strategic Alliances at PhRMA, a role they began in May 2023. Prior to this, from July 2014 to May 2023, Ruben worked at AARP as an Advisor/Field Manager. Before joining AARP, they served as the Southwest Region Director at AFL-CIO from February 2012 to June 2014. Ruben also had a significant tenure at the Texas Democratic Party, where they served as the Executive Director from October 2005 to July 2011. Prior to that, they worked as the Deputy Political Director in the Southern Region for the Service Employees International Union from April 2004 to October 2005. Finally, Ruben held the position of Campaign Communications Specialist at AFL-CIO from November 1999 to April 2003.

Ruben Hernandez earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Government from St. Edward's University in 1995. Ruben later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Concordia University Texas, completing it between 2017 and 2019.
