Shelley Swen

Shelley Swen received her master of physical therapy degree from Loma Linda University in 1997; she became a certified wound specialist through the American Board of Wound Management in 2002; received her doctor of physical therapy from Loma Linda University in 2014; and became a certified lymphedema therapist in 2016. She has worked in a variety of settings but has spent the majority of her clinical practice in wound management. Currently she practices at Desert Oasis Healthcare Wound Clinic in Palm Springs. Shelley is active in the APTA and co-authored an APTA white paper on physical therapists’ involvement in wound care across all settings. She reviews abstract submissions for two international wound care symposiums, assisting in the abstract selection process for these meetings. She has been teaching physical therapy wound care courses for 12 years and has been a lab instructor with Dr Ronald Sherman at annual maggot debridement therapy conferences.
