Antony V. E. Chapman, PhD, is a seasoned genetic engineer with extensive experience in plant genetics and modern gene editing techniques. Currently serving as Lead Tomato Genome Engineer at Phytoform since January 2021, Antony spearheads projects implementing desired traits in commercial tomato varieties through DNA-free CRISPR gene editing. Previously, Antony managed the Enviratron Robotic Phenomics Platform at Iowa State University and conducted research on molecular interactions between barley and Blumeria fungus as a Graduate Research Assistant. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Interdisciplinary Genetics from Iowa State University, an MSc in Plant Genetics with Crop Improvement from the University of East Anglia, and a BSc in Biology from Bangor University.
