Yadeesha Deerasooriya has had a varied work experience since 2011. Yadeesha began their career as an Intern at Premium International (Pvt) Ltd in 2011. Yadeesha then worked as a Transmission Planning Engineer at Etisalat from 2012 to 2014. During this time, they developed network monitoring tools, designed and implemented projects for network capacity optimization. In 2014, they moved to Etisalat Lanka (Private) Limited as an Engineer - IP Core and Transport Network Planning, where they were responsible for energy, cost and capacity forecasting and optimization of telecommunications networks for multiple expansion projects. In 2016, they worked as a Visiting Researcher at the Blue Brain Project. From 2015 to 2020, they worked at the University of Melbourne as a PhD Candidate, where they developed efficient approaches to mathematically model neuronal ion channel kinetics using dynamic clamp data to understand and predict the characteristics of the neurons under normal and diseased conditions. Yadeesha also worked as a Tutor for various subjects. In 2020, they became a Data Scientist/Quantitative Researcher at The Portland House Group Pty. Ltd. Currently, they are a Data Scientist and Associate Data Scientist at PI.EXCHANGE.

Yadeesha Deerasooriya completed a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD from the University of Melbourne between 2015 and 2020. Prior to that, they obtained an Engineering(B.SC) from the University of Moratuwa between 2008 and 2013. In 2013, they obtained a Cisco Certified Network Associate from Cisco Systems, Inc.
