Picovoice
Alireza Kenarsari has a wealth of experience in software engineering, research and development, and teaching. From 2005 to 2017, they have worked in various roles at University of Tehran, University of British Columbia, Dyaptive Systems, Avigilon, Malaspina Labs Inc., Amazon, and Picovoice. At University of Tehran, they were a Research Assistant. At University of British Columbia, they were a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant, during which time they published ten peer-reviewed research papers. At Dyaptive Systems, they worked on scalable network emulators and the company was later acquired by JDSU. At Avigilon, they were an Embedded Software Engineer and was part of the company's first IPO experience. At Malaspina Labs Inc., they invented a few algorithms for keyword spotting, voice activity detection, and beamforming, which ended up being licensed by big players in IoT. At Amazon, they were a Senior Software Development Engineer and created one of the fraud detection platforms which had an ROI of more than $50 M within the first year of its launch. Finally, at Picovoice, they are currently the CEO.
Alireza Kenarsari received their B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran in 2007. Alireza then went on to receive their M.A.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia in 2009.
