Head of New Markets | Co-Founder at Picsel

Daniel Miquelluti's work experience includes positions at Picsel and Management in Insurance and Risk - GESER. At Picsel, they are the Head of New Markets and a Co-Founder since June 2020. Prior to that, at Management in Insurance and Risk - GESER, they were the Head of Economics and Market Research from February 2015 to May 2020. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating and quality controlling projects, including the Rural Insurance Bulletin. Daniel also conducted market segmentation for a global reinsurer and collaborated on the development and feasibility study of a parametric insurance product. Before that, from January 2013 to December 2014, they worked as a Researcher at Management in Insurance and Risk - GESER. Daniel'sresponsibilities included conducting research, content development, and writing technical articles, particularly for the Rural Insurance Bulletin. Notable achievements in this role included evaluating crop yield forecast models.

Daniel Miquelluti holds a PhD in Applied Economics from USP - Universidade de São Paulo, which they obtained from 2015 to 2019. In 2017, they also completed an Executive Education program in Big Data: Transforming data into information (Data Science & Machine Learning) at Insper Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa. Additionally, in 2016, they undertook a program on Designing Index Based Weather Risk Management Programs at the World Bank. Prior to their PhD, Daniel earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Statistics and Agronomic Experimentation from USP - Universidade de São Paulo between 2013 and 2015. Daniel started their educational journey by completing a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy and Crop Science from Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina from 2008 to 2012.

In terms of certifications, Daniel received the "Finalista Falling Walls Lab Brazil" certification from the Falling Walls Foundation in September 2020. In August 2020, they obtained the "Data Masters: Cientista de dados" certification from Banco Santander. Other certifications include "Data Science Foundations - Level 2" from IBM in October 2017, "Entry Level Certificate In Business English (ESOL) - Entry 3" from the University of Cambridge in December 2004, and the "Scrum Foundations Professional Certificate (SFPC)" from CertiProf in June 2020.
