Patience Allen has an extensive work experience, having held various roles in different companies since 2001. Patience began their career as a Senior Development Associate (Marketing) at the NDU Foundation in 2001. In 2004, they were a Consultant for Exhibitions and Accounting at the Norwegian Association for Arts and Crafts. In 2006, they started their own consulting business, Allen Consulting, where they served as CEO until 2012. During this time, they also worked as a Team Leader at See You from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, they began working as Head of Section 3, Production and Systems at the Norwegian Industrial Property Office. From 2016 to 2018, they were CEO of Legelisten.no AS and Manager & Product Owner of Identity, Party Manager, and GDPR (Norway) at Telia. In 2022, they will become Chief People and Project Officer at PictoryTale and CEO of Allen Consulting.

Patience Allen has a long and varied educational history. In 1990, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Chicago in Liberal Arts. From 2002 to 2004, they earned an MBA from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, with a focus in Strategy in Entrepreneurial and Nonprofit Ventures. During their MBA program, they also completed a semester abroad at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). In addition to their degrees, Allen has obtained several certifications, including a Certified SAFe 5 Product Owner/Product Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc. in December 2020, a Certified SAFe 5 Scrum Master from Scaled Agile, Inc. in December 2020, a Prince2 Foundation (Project Management) from Metier in September 2016, a Prince2 Practitioner (Project Management) from Metier in September 2016, a Certified SAFe 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc. in May 2020, a Certified ScrumMaster from Scrum Alliance in October 2016, a Certified Trainer in Financial Education from MFC (Microfinance Centre for Central Europe) in June 2009, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Washington in October 2000.
