Mark Heggen

Motion Graphics Artist at The Picture Production Company

Mark Heggen has extensive experience in the field of video production and graphic design. Mark started their career in 1993 at The Walt Disney Company, where they served as a Servicing Coordinator overseeing film transfer and mastering for Disney releases. Mark then moved on to work at Bronson Hill Design, where they designed DVD menus and packaging for motion picture studios.

In 2002, Heggen joined Technicolor Interactive and Technicolor by Design, divisions of Technicolor, where they designed and animated short-form videos for home video releases, video games, and advertising. Mark also worked on DVD/Bluray menus and bonus materials, and concepted and wrote pitches for a computer pad project.

From 2010 to 2012, Heggen worked as a Graphic Designer at Deluxe Digital Studios, where they designed and edited short-form videos for motion picture studio clients, including DVD/Bluray menus and bonus materials. Mark also concepted, wrote, and produced bonus contents for several releases.

In 2013, Heggen joined Mediacom MC22, a cable television provider, as a Producer. Mark produced and directed local television series, advertising spots, and promos. Mark also created a local history series called "This Way Back".

In 2015, Heggen became a Post Production Specialist, working as a sole proprietor for multiple clients. Mark designed, animated, and edited videos using Adobe Creative Cloud software, creating finished deliverable videos from client-provided materials. Mark worked on a series of electric car videos commissioned by a large power co-op.

Heggen then joined MXM, A Part of Accenture Interactive, in 2017 as a Senior Video Editor. Mark designed, animated, and edited videos for internationally-known brands, including web videos, explainers, B2B, and advertisements.

Currently, Heggen is working as a Motion Graphics Artist at The Picture Production Company, starting in 2022.

Mark Heggen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communication with an emphasis in film and video production from Iowa State University. Mark also attended the University of Iowa, where they studied English and TV-Film. In high school, they graduated from TRHS with a diploma and focused on English Language and Literature/Letters. Additionally, they returned to Iowa State University for another Bachelor of Arts degree, this time in Telecommunicative Arts, from 1982 to 1984.
