Ying Ma

Data Scientist at Pieces

Ying Ma has worked in the healthcare industry for over a decade. Ying began their career in 2007 as a Senior Strategic Planner at Parkland Health and Hospital System. In 2009, they moved to the Center for Clinical Innovation, Parkland Hospital as a Data Analyst. In 2011, they were promoted to Manager, Data/Analytics Core at the Center for Clinical Innovation, Parkland Health and Hospital System. In this role, they articulated problems in hospital operations and designed and conducted in-depth analysis to provide insight and improvement recommendations. Ying then moved to PCCI in 2012 as VP, Data Services, where they led a team of senior healthcare analysts, statisticians, computer scientists, and data analysts to develop predictive modeling and monitoring as well as prescriptive analysis. In 2016, they joined Pieces Technologies as a Data Scientist. Most recently, in 2019, they began working as a Senior Quality Improvement Analyst at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Ying Ma earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2005 and is currently pursuing a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut.
