Gretchen Caserotti

Gretchen Caserotti serves as the Executive Director of the Pierce County Library System, a role held since May 2022, where responsibilities include strategic planning, policy administration, and ensuring the delivery of customer-focused library services with an emphasis on equity and inclusion. Prior to this, Gretchen functioned as the Library Director for the Meridian Library District from March 2013 to May 2022, overseeing a budget of $7 million and a team of 80 employees across four branches. Previous positions in library services include Assistant Director for Public Services at Darien Library, where management of public service departments and staff development were key responsibilities, and Children's Librarian at New York Public Library, recognized for significant increases in programming and circulation. Gretchen's academic background includes a Master of Science in Information and Library Science from Pratt Institute, along with degrees in Theatre from Hunter College and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
