With 25 years of experience in management and corporate communications, Chris is driven to help organizations leverage their communications channels to support business objectives. With his background in engineering, he brings a unique perspective to Pierpont’s clients. He is a FEMA certified crisis communications professional, leading the crisis preparation and response team for many of the firm’s clients. From developing effective crisis plans, to leading media training and emergency response exercises, Chris works with his clients to strengthen and protect their reputations among all key stakeholders.
Beyond crisis situations, Chris offers his expertise in internal and external communications, investor relations, strategy development and corporate philanthropy to clients. Before his work at Pierpont, Chris held executive positions in corporate communications, operations, and risk management. In addition to advising oil and gas corporations on investor relations, Chris worked extensively in developing corporate sustainability reports and strategic community engagement programs.
In addition to his role at Pierpont, Chris is a guest lecturer who shares his expertise on crisis management with undergraduate and MBA students at Rice University and the University of Texas. He also frequently presents on crisis management and today’s media landscape to professional organizations and societies. He is the past president of the Corporate Community Relations Council in Houston and is a member of the Greater Houston Partnership Energy Committee. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Christian Brothers University in Memphis and a Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University.
