Francesco Hofmann

Francesco Hofmann has a diverse work experience in the field of oncology research. Francesco started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School in 1993 and worked there until 1997. Francesco then joined Novartis as the Head of Laboratory in Oncology Research, and later took on roles as Project Leader, Director, and ultimately Executive Director by the end of 2010. In 2011, they moved to the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR) and served as the Head of Oncology Research at the Basel site until 2016. Francesco was then promoted to the position of Global Head of Oncology Drug Discovery, which they held until 2021. Currently, Francesco Hofmann is the Vice President and Head of R&D at Pierre Fabre Medical Care within the Pierre Fabre Group.

Francesco Hofmann earned a Master's degree in Biochemistry from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH, Zurich, Switzerland in 1989. Francesco went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from the same institution between 1989 and 1993.
