Claudiu B. Bucur

Claudiu B. Bucur has had a varied and extensive career in the field of battery technology. In 2011, they began working as a Battery Research Scientist at Toyota Research Institute of North America. In 2017, they moved on to become the Chief Research Engineer at Great Wall Motor Co., Ltd., where they led a group tasked with pushing the limits of batteries for electric vehicles beyond lithium ion. In 2018, they took on the role of Project Director at Svolt Energy Technology Co., Ltd., where they lead technical direction and oversaw technical development of solid battery development. In 2020, they became an Entrepreneurial Fellow at the United States Space Force Catalyst Accelerator, Newchip Accelerator, and Argonne National Laboratory Chain Reaction Innovations. Claudiu B. also became an Entrepreneurial Fellow at the Polsky Center I-Corps Program. In 2021, they joined SAE International as a Battery Standards Advanced Battery Concepts Committee Member, where they generated ongoing information reports for monitoring of new energy storage technologies. Finally, in 2020 they became the Chief Executive Officer of Piersica.

Claudiu B. Bucur obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Chemistry from Florida State University between 2003 and 2008.
