Axel Stelk

Axel Stelk is the current CFO at Piglet. Prior to this, they were the fractional CFO at UTU technologies from January 2019 to January 2020. UTU provides trust infrastructure for mobility, sharing, fintech, and eCommerce platforms across Africa. UTU also operates a growing network of trust-powered mobility platforms around the continent. From December 2018 to May 2019, Stelk was a finance consultant at AHL Venture Partners where they advised the CEO on insourcing and geographical relocation of the finance function. From June 2018 to December 2018, Stelk worked as a freelance financial consultant with Toptal. As a member of the Toptal exclusive network of financial consultants, Stelk connects leading companies with the top 3% of freelancers around the world for various projects. Some of their engagements include M&A advisory for a German wholesale business, FP&A project for a Kenyan agri-tech company, and FP&A project for a leading UK vegan e-commerce business. Prior to their work at Toptal, Stelk was the CFO & COO at Tulaa from July 2017 to February 2018.

Axel started their educational career by obtaining a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School. Axel then went on to obtain their Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute. After that, they obtained their ACA certification from ICAEW. Finally, they obtained their Associate Chartered Accountant certification from ICAEW and their Audit Qualification certification from CFA Institute.
