Luca De Simoni has a diverse work experience, starting with a role as an Infantry Soldier in the Schweizer Armee from July 2007 to April 2008. Luca then worked as an Industrial Engineering Intern at Pilatus Aircraft Ltd from July 2011 to October 2011. In February 2012, they were a Teaching Assistant in Experimental Mechanics at ETH Zurich. Soon after, they joined Pilatus Aircraft Ltd again as an Engineering Trainee from October 2013 to December 2014, gaining insights into different engineering disciplines and Pilatus Design Organization. Subsequently, they had various roles at Pilatus Aircraft Ltd, including an extensive period as a Structural Engineer/F&DT Specialist from April 2015 to December 2018. Luca also worked as a Business Consulting I4.0 (part-time) from February 2018 to December 2018, focusing on I4.0 Strategy Development and realization of Proof of Concept projects. From January 2019 to December 2020, they served as a Project Manager and Project Engineer, leading I4.0 and digitalization initiatives. Luca then became Deputy Head of Software Development in March 2021 and currently holds the position of Product Owner Digital Operations & Maintenance at Pilatus Aircraft Ltd. There is also a short period, from January 2015 to March 2015, where they were unemployed and traveling.

Luca De Simoni has a strong educational background in engineering and digital enterprise transformation. Luca earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Aerospace Engineering and Advanced Structures from ETH Zürich in 2013. Prior to this, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zürich in 2011, specializing in Structural Engineering. In 2018, Luca obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in Industry 4.0 - Digital Enterprise Transformation from Fernfachhochschule Schweiz.

Additionally, Luca has obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills and expertise.
