Group Manager - Risk and Compliance at Pilbara Minerals Limited

Jason Cross has a comprehensive work experience that spans over several industries. Jason started their career as a Graduate Designer at Hydraulic Technique Pty Ltd in 1994, where they were responsible for producing drawings for hydraulic components used in the mining industry. Jason then worked as a Mechanical Designer at Metso from 1996 to 1997, where they handled detail design and plant layout for mineral processing projects.

In 1997, Jason joined Civmec Construction & Engineering as a Project Engineer, where they managed various projects from tender preparation to project coordination and control. Jason also supervised site maintenance crews and contributed to the quality management system.

From 1998 to 2004, Jason worked at Metso again, this time as a Technical Team Lead. In this role, they managed design in the fluidized bed division and coordinated stakeholder groups for various projects. Jason also prepared progress reports for clients.

In 2004, Jason joined Engenium as a Senior Project Engineer and later became the Manager of Projects. At Engenium, they worked on feasibility studies and mine development projects for Atlas Iron Limited. Jason successfully managed the delivery of the company's first mine at Pardoo.

From 2009 to 2014, Jason was the Senior Manager of Projects at Atlas Iron Limited, where they led a team in delivering feasibility and execution projects. Jason played a key role in developing the company's second mine at Wodgina and recruited and retained key personnel during a competitive period in the mining industry.

In 2014, Jason joined Western Power as the Manager of Works Program, where they provided program management, leadership, and guidance for the annual works program. Jason successfully managed and delivered assigned components of the program.

Since 2016, Jason has been working at Pilbara Minerals Limited. Jason initially served as the Manager of Projects and later took on the role of Group Manager to develop and implement the company's risk and compliance function. Jason is also accountable for the company's insurance program.

Throughout their career, Jason has demonstrated strong project management skills, successful delivery of projects, and the ability to collaborate across functional areas.

Jason Cross obtained a Diploma in Integrated Risk Management from Interlink Technology Services Pty Ltd, where they studied from 2020 to 2022. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Project Management from Curtin University, completing their studies from 2002 to 2005.
