Richard Connell

Richard Connell is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in water resources and project management. Currently serving as Study Manager and Port Area Manager at Pilbara Minerals Limited since May 2022, Richard previously held various roles at Fortescue from April 2019 to March 2022, including Project Development Manager and Principal Water Engineer. Notably, Richard managed a Pre-Feasibility Study for a renewable hydrogen project and led key stakeholder interactions. Richard’s experience also encompasses leadership positions at Engineers Australia and extensive project management at Water Technology Pty Ltd. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from the University of Melbourne, complemented by a Master of Business Management from Swinburne University of Technology.
