Katherine Hurd

Board Member at Pilgrim Africa

Dr. Katy Hurd works in urgent care at The Everett Clinic. She was first introduced to Uganda at age 9 through the eyes of an aunt who had recently traveled there. Deeply moved by the beauty of the people and their land, she became determined to work in Africa someday. She decided to pursue medical missions. God graciously opened the door to medical school at the University of Washington School, then to the In His Image Family Medicine Residency in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After completing her residency in 2008, she spent a year in private practice in Snohomish, Washington, then several months with Pilgrim in Uganda working with the Move on Malaria program and Pilgrim’s Beacon Medical Center.

Dr. Katy Hurd attended the University of Washington for both her MD and BS in Cellular and Molecular Biology.
