Yue Ke

VP Informatics & AI at Pillar Biosciences

Yue Ke's work experience begins in 1997 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. They then worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Pittsburgh from 2001 to 2008. After that, they became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Penn State University, where they led research projects and built high complexity material growth systems.

In 2012, Yue Ke joined IBM as an Advisory Scientist, leading the development of a server chip using machine data and ML/AI techniques. They also collaborated with the Watson AI department to promote ML/AI adoption for chip manufacturing.

In 2015, Yue Ke joined Pillar Biosciences Incorporated as a Data Scientist. Over the years, their role evolved, and they held positions such as Senior Data Scientist, Staff Data Scientist, and Principal Data Scientist. They worked on developing various products and scaling AI development for data analysis and panel design. They also led the submission of the company's first IVD product.

In 2017, Yue Ke became the Director of Software & Bioinformatics at Pillar Biosciences, where they supported business development, launched new IVD products, and built statistical capabilities for ML/AI development.

In 2020, Yue Ke was promoted to Senior Director, Software & Bioinformatics. They led the architecture and algorithm development for a cloud-based clinical NGS data processing SaaS and high-performance computing panel design software. They also gained experience in building FDA-approved IVD devices and contributed to patents and publications.

Currently, Yue Ke holds the position of VP Informatics & AI at Pillar Biosciences, where they continue to lead informatics and AI initiatives for the company while driving innovation, making business decisions, and improving manufacturing processes.

Yue Ke completed their Bachelor's degree in Physics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University from 1997 to 2001. Yue then pursued a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Pittsburgh from 2001 to 2008.

Additionally, they have obtained several certifications in various programming and data science courses. These include certifications in Java Programming, Machine Learning, Hadoop Platform and Application Framework, Programming Foundations with JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and various other courses related to statistics, data analysis, and data science. These certifications were obtained from Coursera Course Certificates between the years 2015 to 2016.
