Akiko SATO

Akiko Sato is a Business and Human Rights Specialist and Attorney-at-Law with over a decade of experience in human rights advocacy, focusing on socially vulnerable individuals, including those with disabilities. They currently serve as an Officer for the Business and Human Rights Lawyers Network Japan and as a Liaison Officer for UNDP, managing initiatives related to business and human rights in Japan. Throughout their career, Akiko has held various roles, including Japan Programme Coordinator for the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre and Deputy Secretary General for Human Rights Now. Akiko holds a Juris Doctor from Hitotsubashi University and a Master of Arts in Development Studies from the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam.
