Brian Montgomery

Brian Montgomery is a Senior Counsel specializing in Consumer Finance Regulatory at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP since February 2021. Previously, Brian served in various roles, including Deputy Superintendent, Director of Student Protection, Supervising Counsel, and Associate Counsel at the New York State Department of Financial Services from October 2011 to January 2021. Brian also held the position of Associate Counsel at the New York State Insurance Department for a brief period in 2011, and prior to that, worked as an Assistant Attorney General at the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York from 2007 to January 2011. Brian holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Lewis & Clark Law School, earned between 2003 and 2006, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English from Colgate University, obtained from 1995 to 1999.
