Rob James

Rob James is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in commercial and corporate transactions within the natural resources and infrastructure sectors, encompassing oil, gas, conventional and renewable power, and infrastructure projects. As a Partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP since 1983, Rob specializes in areas such as public-private partnerships, carbon sequestration, acquisitions, joint ventures, and engineering, procurement, and construction projects. Additionally, Rob serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Responsible Carbon Removal and is an Advisory Council Member at the Bay Area Council Economic Institute. Contributions to community organizations include serving as Director for the US District Court for the Northern District of California Historical Society and as Director for the Bay Area Council. An educator as well, Rob lectured on International Investment Protection at UC Berkeley’s Law School. Academic credentials include a J.D. from Yale Law School and an A.B. in Economics from Stanford University.
