Jeff Thies currently serves as the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (Acting) at Pima Community College, alongside the role of Dean of College Readiness and Student Success, a division established in 2019 to support learner-focused initiatives. This division encompasses Libraries, Learning Centers, Testing and Placement Centers, and Student Success courses, all aimed at empowering students to achieve academic, professional, and personal success. Prior to this, Jeff Thies was the Executive Director of Developmental Education and Dean of Academic Studies at Lee College. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arizona, dual MEd degrees from Northern Arizona University, a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Education with a focus on Mathematics from Arizona State University, and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics from Texas A&M University.
